Espectro I was the first iteration of a multi-city contemporary art project called Espectro, which gathers artwork made either by artists living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or by other neurodivergent and neurotypical artists producing artwork about ASD. Espectro presents this art in the context of both collective and individual shows, along with a wider schedule of accompanying events. Its flagship numbered editions are collective shows structured by special curatorial projects and collaborations.
Espectro 1 took place in 2024; it was hosted by Galeria L, located in the the heart of Mexico City’s Condesa Art District.
Espectro is a Banana Contemporary project that was inspired by Llorenz, and has been supported by a network of allied organizations such as Casa Otea and Domus Instituto de Autismo. Each new iteration of the organization’s official flagship show, along with many of its additional exhibitions, have featured Llorenz’s art.
Espectro has continued to grow into a wider cultural program that unites art and education in support of the ASD and neurodivergent communities.
